Though applying online is beneficial to the application process, there is a dedicated center right here in Las Vegas that provides all those services to you for FREE. It is called the One-Stop Career Center and it will greatly help you secure a job for the summer, and shape your overall career pathway for your future!
What is One-Stop Career Center?
The One-Stop Career Center is a hub that provides a plethora of services for both adults and youth in the state of Nevada. “Program services begin with an in-depth assessment to determine appropriate services for educational attainment, career exploration, and opportunities for job related training and employment focused on in-demand careers.”
Who is eligible?
The One-Stop Career Center is catered to not only adults, but also “young adults, ages 16-24 years old who are out-of-school and face barriers to education and employment.”
What does the Center provide?
What exactly does the One-Stop center provide for you? The center provides youth with Educational Achievement like financial literacy; employment preparation which assists youth before, during, and after the employment process; as well as other integrated support for the youth from counseling and mentoring programs.
Educational Achievement
- Alternative secondary school services or dropout recovery services
- Tutoring, study skills training and instruction
- Activities that help prepare for and transition to postsecondary education and training
- Financial literacy
Employment Preparation
- Paid and unpaid work experiences, internships, and job shadowing
- Occupational skills and training
- Work readiness classes
- Entrepreneurship skills
- Services to provide information on in-demand careers and employment information around career awareness, counseling, and exploration
